Informational Meeting for Rotary Club meetings in Spanish

The District 7120 Governor Michael Leone and Assistant District Governor Luisa Baars are very interested in exploring the possibility of establishing a Rotary Club that is Hispanic-based. The purpose will be to attract people, Hispanic and non-Hispanic alike, interested in conducting the Club's business primarily in Spanish.

There will be two informational meetings to be held on November 20, 2008. The first one at 8:00 am with breakfast provided and the second one at 7:00 pm with dessert, coffee, tea, wine, etc. Both to be held at 66 Northwick Drive; Rochester, NY 14617 at Wim and Luisa Baars Home. Western NY Kickoff Event of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA)

Nazareth College’s School of Management (SOM) and NSHMBA New York Chapter have partnered to expand into Western New York, covering the Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse regions. NSHMBA’s New York Chapter President Jim Huerta will be on hand to welcome regional members and announce Western New York’s involvement with Junior Achievement.

Mata Ortiz Pottery is famous world-wide for the elegance of the pots and the gorgeous designs. Intricate patterns, delicate forms, unique materials - all are part of the Mata Ortiz tradition.

Ana Trillo and her husband Monico Corona, two potters from this town, are expected to attend the opening night of the exhibit.

Joseph Sorrentino spent two weeks in the village documenting the pottery-making process in March 2008. Joseph's chronicle of daily life and the process will be shared alongside the pottery. Come meet the artists and experience their work.
